Here's one that I did a few months ago for a 2001 Silverado 5.3L with the same 411 PCM that you have. It had two small turbos and some 75 lb/hr decaps.

Thanks! stock 5.3 minus turbos and injectors?

Stock 5.3L, but had Sloppy Stage 2 cam and correct valvesprings.

Awesome thanks!. What kind of boost were you running and how did it turn out? Another question on the vehicle when I plug in it doesn't have the option to enable 2 bar in the OS how do I verify that it might have been applied previously? The car was running an SD Nitrous tune when purchased.

Click on the Calibration Details icon on the Editor toolbar and see what the current Operating System is. A custom OS may have already been applied.
If that's the case, you'd have to do a write entire to restore the original OS.

so when I was comparing your file you linked me to this I am understanding most but I don't know why he doesn't have an option in the OS to enable 2 bar. The car was previously tuned on nitrous and I don't have the original file. Here is his file with a few adjustments from yours.

Calibration details are blank it says OS 2020005

Yours already has a custom OS applied to it. Looks like an EFI Live OS. It has a separate fuel table for boost, and a separate spark modifier table for boost. It should work fine in your application, but it'll just be different than the one tune that I posted.

If you'd prefer to convert it to an HP Tuners based 2 bar OS, you'll just have to license a stock file and do a Write Entire, then start from scratch.

Thank you I was wondering if that wasn't the case. I am not familiar with EFI Live. I was just curious how the extra VE table for boost works. Can you take a peak at my Main and Boost VE tables if you have time?

It will transition into the boost VE table when it exceeds 105 kPa. Your Primary VE table is set with some pretty large numbers at the 90-105 kPa range. You can review my tune for an idea of the values at 100 kPa...typically 90-100 is about right. Yours goes up to 131. I'd adjust that, then you can can focus on the boost table. It's zero'd out at this time.

Those numbers look more appropriate to start with.

Be sure to force it to SD mode by changing P0101, 102, and 103 to MIL on First Error.

It won?t idle if I set the map parameters to 200 do I need to keep it at 100 since it has a boost table?

The MAP sensor Linear and Offset values are solely dictated by whatever MAP sensor you are running. Do you know the part number for your MAP sensor?

  17. #17
The map is a new sensor is from a 2005 cobalt ss PN# NTK MA0097

Go on the repository and grab a stock tune for a 2005 cobalt SS or any other car that uses the same sensor and get the MAP sensor linear and offset values from there.

Thanks I tried but my cable is still licensed to my buddy so I can't get into the repository.

The MAP shown in the Cobalt tune file is the 5-pin TMAP, the 3-pin 2-bar sensor commonly used is actually the Cobalt SS baro sensor and is not in the tune file.
