    PATS Disable

Does HP Tuners allow us to disable PATS on some of the earlier Fords? I've got a customer with a 2002 Mustang that has PATS issues on occasion. I'd like to disable it if possible.

    TIA!

Get FORScan... its free (the premium version is 30 worst case) and an obd dongle... its basically what the dealerships use, and you can reprogram/disable PATS with that among many other functions.

To answer your question: Yes, HPT can disable PATS... I have with my car since it had failed. But you already got good advice, don't blow credits on a 99-04 unless you have already or are doing other tuning.

ForScan will not delete PATS. HPT will tip a PATS switch under SYSTEM tab which is just a half of entire PATS system.

Other half is located in another part of memory which neither ForScan nor HPT can read.

You can pull that extra piece of memory with few other tools and work you way trough - this will be digging in binary manually so nothing for "mere mortals"...
