Recoding of a VIN for a new transmission

I am working on helping a friend install his HP90 in a highly modified ScatPack. It originally came with a HP70 and we would like to recode the VIN inside the TCM so it will be able to communicate with the BCM and PCM. Is there functionality within HP Tuners to do so?

Bone Stock Scat Pack PB > ET: 11.612, MPH: 119.52, 60': 1.634, R/T: .000 (gone but not forgotten).

No, you can probably do it with AlphaOBD and an OBDLINK MX+ though.
If in doubt, multiply everything by 1.1.

The trans/TCM will work just fine as is. The TCM doesnt really care what cars its in.
I've switched 8hp a couple times and it works fine without any extra fuss.

Only down side was having to buy 4 credits to from Hpt to license the new TCM. I suppose I could have took off the pans and swapped TCMs and I suppose you could do that too.

Interesting. So you are saying the TCM auto updates VIN info?

What he?s saying is the TCM doesn?t care if it?s VIN is mismatched from the ECM and other modules from an operational stand point. The TCM doesn?t auto anything with mismatched VINs, hence his need of having to purchase extra credits to tune the TCM due to mismatched VIN.

That's what we wound up doing. I retrofited his HP70 tune to be more like a Demon HP90 tune and it was madness. In the end we just went with the HP90 calibration that we modified. Had to turn off a few DTCs but other than that it's a very happy car now.

What DTCs did you have to turn off? Just did an hp90 swap on my 392 charger and it moves but is in limp mode and won't shift. Ordered a tune from Hellraiser but it's been 5 weeks and counting waiting on the tune.
