You can disable it but I don't understand why you would, especially on a turbo motor. VCT and VVT. These are Ti-VCT. The ability to control the intake cam and exhaust cam independently allows you to control the overlap of the cams, keeping cylinder pressure and power through most of the RPM range. Disabling this would pretty much cause it to run like a GM. You'll have either no bottom end and good top end, no top end and good bottom end. Maybe, good midrange and bad lower and top end. Ti-VCT is how fords are making power, good drivability, good fuel economy and even EGR, emissions control.
