Hunting Idle - Can't nail it down during idle and after throttle blip

    Afternoon,

I am looking for some general Idle tuning and return to idle help on my current build.

During Idle: the timing is hunting even though it is relatively stead.

After Throttle Blip: the engine cycles around Idle, nearly stalls, and hunts for idle.

I am not sure what I am missing.

    Engine details aren't fancy:
    - 5.3L
    - 706 casting heads
    - manifolds, no cats, with exhaust dumps (~20 inches from collector)
    - SS2 Elgin cam (.585/.585)
    - Stock everything else.
    - Engine is not in gear (it's on a stand), but displays 2nd gear in the scanner.

    Thanks.

Engine inertia is not representative without a converter or flywheel attached to the crank. You'd be wasting your time to try to correct for idle on an engine stand you can't drive around...
