I Make the low octane, high octane (main spark), and In gear timing (base) tables match where the engine Idles. So that when the ecm changes from base spark (in gear throttle closed) to Main spark tables there won't be a sudden drop or spike in timing, which would cause hesitation or stalling. This only applies to .08 - .24 cyl airmass in the 400-800rpm columns in most street applications.
