the MPVI and MPVI2 are not stand alone computers. All they do is talk with the factory ecu. Therefore they do not control which type of firing you have.
Some oem computers will continue to run without the cam sensor, but with no cam signal at startup, all the new computers will not start because they are looking for the homing positions to reference TDC compression.
What ecu model do you have? If you don't know, what vehicle and engine did the computer run?
