Hope you don't mind a question from a v6 guy. I'm planning on switching to E85 after I get the car back running with the new T67 turbo kit. I'll be making at least 500 HP on gas and would like the advantage of the 105 octane.

Anyway Commming from a guy that has never used a wideband before but did just purchase a NGK afx I guess i have a lot to learn.

Anyway My question is would It be easier for me to switch my stoich afr to 9.799 also?

Talked to someone that was running E85 in ine of these cars and he said all he did was increase the IFR table 30% and that was it.

But i'm not to sure about that. Figured i'd get all the help from who ever I coud.

upping your ve 30% is one way of doing it and posted here in one of the initial threads that it can be done that way.

Hey, awesome write up, have a few questions though.

I have a 98 Grand Prix GT on boost and am converting to E85. I am having some slight issues with it so far...

When I reinstall my AEM Wideband, what should the numbers read at WOT with E85? Should it still be about high 11's, low 12's?

I guess I am just confused on what the gasoline programmed Wideband should read on e85...

    Thanks,
    Marc

If you have a AEM wideband you can switch the readings to Lambda (little hole on the back of the gauge needs a very small flat head or something). Go to www.aempower.com and read the manual.

You should have a front gauge peice that says Lambda too.

I did the E-85 switch today but having some idling issues now plus some other stuff

Thread revival perhaps but I just got my cammed ls1 onto e85 today, I was SUPER excited! I put in 30# Ford red top injectors at the same time so it took a little effort to get it going decently (starting a whole nother thread on that lol) but it's running like a champ!

I switched over to E85 last Sunday and it is doing great so far. I simply changed my stoich value and that was it, no other changes and the car runs fine. The O2s have never been happier and I am at 65% duty cyle with 42# green tops making 440 at the rear wheels thru an A4. I left my WOT timing the same but did add a ton of timing at idle.

The highest injector duty % I logged was 50% during several WOT runs... I'm green as the grass when it comes to this but I don't think I can screw up looking at the injector duty cycle, right??

I run 39# injectors are 75% commanding 13.1 at WOT, something does not sound right. You should be using a LOT more fuel than that I would think.

After doing some detailed research there IS ways to use stock injectors on E85 and not run into DC issues. But I don't know if HPT can do it. I don't have access to it often so I can't try it.

I'm making 100 less HP or so than you, off a guess. stock 853 casting heads LS1 intake manifold... I'll get the car warmed up sunday and make a couple WOT passes and upload them so we can see if I'm just retarded... which is more than possible.

The only way stockers will work is with higher fuel pressure, period.

iced98lx, just seemed like a low DC to me, E85 uses about 35-ish% more fuel at WOT than regular pump gas.

Funny things happen when I go to put e85, the gas attendants ask me you sure e85? or another gear head would say, how are you running e85? a guy yesterday asked me what i used to run e85, he than shows me his boat all aluminum 427 running 700hp motor and 300 shot of juice on e85.

Converted a friend's 2002 Corvette Z06 to E85 with SVO 42lb 'green tops' ... plus a 150 shot. Car is faster than same exact setup on 200 shot and gasoline.

I have the same Ford injectors on order for my car, and I'll soon begin running 100% E85. The way I see it, even if it didn't make torque and horsepower, it is still cheap insurance against the return of $5 a gallon gas. The added power is just gravy.

The local place at $1.899 a gal for E85 ran out yesterday.

I had to go to 42% 87/58% E85... Oh well, hopefully will be back soon!

Thats hilarious. Bill is a friend of mine. He took the motor out of that car and put it in his new one. Twin turbo 427 small block ford. He is making the first pass in the new car in about an hour.

Still on e85, around 1400 rwhp

I am almost done converting my 3.8 to e85 and single turbo.
