    How to decrease power

    Hi!

Is there a way of reducing the power of an LS1 engine with something like 75 HP?
Is reducing the spark advance the way to go?
How much roughly should I reduce the spark advance?
Is this a safe way to go or are there other methods to reduce the engine power (limiting the throttle blade is not an option)?

(Yes, I have my reasons to do this so you don't have to ask me why. )

    Thank you!

Reducing it by 75hp or reducing it to 75hp?

You are not supposed to ask

Or... does the engine already have only 75hp and needs to be cut even more? So confused! Why can't everyone be native English speakers?!

My first thought would be to limit RPM. This will not only reduce top end HP but also give a little more life to the engine. Nothing like taking a normal 6,500 rpm motor and limiting it to 5K

With the only tools at your disposal being RPM and spark timing, I suspect you will end up with timing very very low, like around zero or possibly even negative, which is VERY bad for engine parts if kept like that for any sustained period.

Oops, sorry, had left the page open and didn't see your latest. Reducing by 75 will not be that bad.

Will you be measuring before and after horsepower on a dyno? If so it should be pretty easy to watch power and pull ignition timing out until you get desired power.

Watch out for really low numbers or negative timing as other have said, watch you exhaust manifolds for getting hot or glowing red.

    Greetings from Finland.

You may limit max rpm, if that's ok.

If it has an ETC (non-cable throttle), you may limit TPS opening to, say 75%.

If it's normally aspirated (no turbo or blower), drop your timing several degrees at WOT.

Or then you may ask the dyno operator to check if the correction factors are good for your dyno run...

    Unplug a few injectors lol.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

3 clicks down on the e-brake?

Maybe 4 clicks, depends on how it's adjusted.
