    2021 LV1 8speed unlockable ECM/TCM

I just purchased a 2021 LV1 GEN V 4.3L V6 with 8L90E complete with harness ECM and TCM to swap into my 87 Buick T-Type. This is a E90/T93 set up. Question is has someone successfully used an older ECM/TCM (E92/T87) to control a newer set up like this? Engine control is not as big as a concern (cause I think harness and most sensors will transfer over) the bigger concern is will the 8L90E work with the older T87/T87a TCM? The connector on the T93 looks the same as the older TCMs but not sure about the pinout ?..Any info would be greatly appreciated?..👍

This appears to be a subject of debate. I personally tried to get a T93 to run an A8 in a vehicle that come with a T87A. Yes, the T93 and T87/T87A are pin compatible, for the most part, but in my case the T93 calibration expected a different shifter position switch so it didn't work.

On the other hand, there's some tuning outfit out there that's supposedly made T87As work in place of T93s in the Camaro SS and ZL1, so maybe it's possible after all.
