    1998 White/Black PCM no VIN?

First attempt at tuning a a CK pickup (1998 C1500 SWB). 1GCEC14W7WZ273653 build date 08/98. Has a white/black PCM, or "black box" from what I've read. Appears to be perfectly compatible with HPT, but I've exhausted my knowledge on this one. I can read codes via scanner, but the editor is unable to read the file or even detect VIN. I have tried manually entering VIN, cycling power, etc. No dice. Is there a trick to reading these dinosaurs?

5 connector is 96/97 black box. Not supported by HP Tuners. 98/99 eliminated the small square plug in the middle. Sounds like someone did a swap sometime in the vehicle's past. The VIN you posted is for a 1998 Chevrolet C1500 1/2 ton P/U 2WD 6 Cylinders W 4.3L FI OHV 262 CID though

Makes perfect sense. Guess it'll be a 411 swap then. Thanks!
