hemi motor 5.7,6.1, 6.2, 6.4. ive read that 15 is safe and 19 is pushing it so why from factory the spark tables are higher than 19? i try to compare and what little i find able to be read are high. mine is a 08 body and system but motor is a 06 with mods. trying to tune to get as much torque as possible but kr! so i lower the spark to 19 max and torque went down as well! ive asked how to lower my spark and raise my torque but....

08 will want more than 15, low 20's. I see some guys put 25, but 22-24 is usualy pretty close

some newer stuff, scat packs etc only want 18-19

its all about the cylinder head

the body is a 2008 but the heads are 2013 eagle heads. could i just use a 09<pt table and adjust? i see the stock tunes are rough compared to these tunes from youtube, they are smooth compared to stock..

Why shouldn't you go past 15?

I'm not saying you should, or shouldn't, but what makes 15 the magic number? I've been able to push a 5.7 close to 20, a 6.4 wont take that much, my 6.2 I believe is at 10 or 12. I'm just saying there isn't a blanket number for every vehicle

Honeslty the only way to know is with real world testing, go to a track and see where it stops getting faster, or pay for dyno time. Whats safe is a subjective thing. Guessing isnt going to get it right.

Starting from the stock table and going from there is a great place to start. Your final numbers will be what the car/truck wants. It will not always be the same number. Ive tuned similar vehicles with similar modifications and had different results. There is no generic answer
