I am new to using HPtuners, we have a OBS tahoe we swapped a 5.3 into. 2000 Surburban PCM
After removing VATS and rear O2's
I noticed on the scanner page there is no ECT data. any idea how come?
the Snap-on Sollus Edge shows the ECT, but the HPT scanner doesn't.
Also i need no O2 data, the Sollus Shows it but not HPt
i also hooked it to up my 2004 Escalade to verify and i have same results.
That worked, thank ya. there was a channel there for it, but it wasn't SAE, and i watched a video and it also mentioned something about that too.
but either way, adding the SAE channel worked. I have a short log file of the OBS tahoe we swapped in a 5.3. it seems to be running really rich, i can't tell
if the O2s are bad or what. They run about 450mv constantly, so i am thinking they are bad, ordering a new set today..
here are 2 connectors in this harness we have left and can't find what they do
one looks like an IAT connector, but there is no IAT on these, i thought it's built into the MAF.
the other connector i have no idea what is for,
truck fires up and runs and drives
just real rich, shifts fine. not sure if this harness is made for an external IAT sensor
attached it the log and file written to the PCM
Be careful with the SAE channels. They often do not agree with the real data that is shown by the GM-specific channels, and the GM-specific data is what the PCM is using.
it was a new harness built by that company in the link
also there a ECT channel already in that list, but it did put out any data.
how do i know which one was GM specific?
When you first add a channel and it gives you the pop-up and generously offers to use the SAE version... click the NO, I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING button and it will use the real, non-generic/non-universal version. And you know what they say about 'universal', that means it doesn't fit anything.
Did the company that built the harness provide any documentation like diagrams/pinouts/wire colors? Or at least tell you what application it's based on so you can look it up in the GM service info?
