    Vvt

I have 2 Challenger rt classic one is a 2011 and the other is a 2012 both have 5.7L engines and manual transmissions. The 2012 I own since it was new. The 2011 has 60,000 miles on it and I just purchased it. I pulled the tunes on both cars and for the most part they are identical except the 2011 has the VVT disabled. Is there any way for me to find out if the 2011 is a factory tune and has anyone seen a factory tune with the VVT disabled.

    thank you

VVT would never be disabled from the factory on a VVT motor.

You can check the tune repository - hptuners.com - log into your account, click on your name and then it should be one of the tabs on the left. Just look for you year model and make.

Shouldn't be disabled from factory, but I have seen several instances where the OE "had something" possibly in testing and although it was in the tune such as turbo tables or whatever, the vehicle wasn't actually equipped with it and then later on the ecm may be used on a vehicle that actually used those tables.

I would log the cam to see if it's moving. I've seen somewhere on this forum that switches could be mislabeled for certain years.
