    Car won't start..

I just made revisions to my first tune (didn't change much, just RPM limter, Top speed and boost in 1st gear). And the stupid thing won't start. It has the Security Light on the bottom.

Went ahead and performed the Security relearn twice (as posted per spec in the help guides), pulled the negative off the battery and flashed back to stock tune. The car will not start. Any suggestions? It's aggravating.

P.S The "Power Steering" , "Low Fuel" & "Auto Lights off" keep flashing, I shut the lights off as it states in the guide.

    info would be helpful ie
    year
    make
    model

    your stock hpt file
    your new modded hpt file

did you perform a write calibration only or a write entire?

    etc.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I performed both when neither would take. Write Caliration took the file and when it failed on write entire it said it recovered ok.

I will find the files in a few minutes.

    ok

I made revisions to my tune. I pulled down the stock tune. I saved it and moved it to the side. I went ahead and took the stock tune and made another copy of it and called it 7k tune. I changed the redline to 7k, speed limiter etc.

Went ahead and saved it and began the write calibration only. NOT THE WRITE ENTIRE. Just the write only. It failed the first time erasing vcm and putting in the new tune. I tried this twice before I decided to use the Write Entire That failed too but said "recovery" and and attempted to erase the VCM completly so I gave up on that and waited an hour. Came back with a clear head, told it to write the revised tune with a Write Only Calibration and it accepted the tune but now my car will not start without clicking and the security light lit up solid.

sounds like you need to do a write entire.

it fails erasing the VCM, it times out whether you take high speed off or on.

I am uncertain what else I can try. Suggestions?

On the car? How can that be? I had it started prior before the flash. Since then it won't start. I am willing to try that out but I am almsot sure it has to be something else.

Turning the key on the car with the clutch pushed in goes click once. This is when upon starting the car. The security light disappears when the clicking happens but when you stop attempting to turn over the car displays the security light again. All functions of the car work except starting.

I have no gauges except stock boost gauge. I pulled every fuse out and inspected. All is OK. That is not it. Thanks for the tip though..

I'm going to try a different laptop this weekend. The one I used is USB 2.0 but seems to have an issue with the interface cable unless it's actually the cable I have that's causing problems... I'm just wondering why it times out doing an entire write (when it erases the VCM). We will see. More suggestions are welcome. Otherwise I will have to tow the car back to the dealership in shame.

Does the scanner still connect to the ECM?
If so it reports battery voltage on the bottom scroll line.

IIRC the editor reports the same thing on the bottom info bar.

If you are below 10.5 or above 15 you are in trouble... Battery needs a charge if low reported. At least a 2A trickle charge. If high, do you have a charger on it? If so, reduce the charge to a minimum.
