2020 GMC Sierra and Flex Fuel

Looking through wiring schematics for the E90 ECM that is controlling a L87 6.2, I?ve noticed a pin is marked as unused. However, it also has a label referring to it as a flex fuel sensor input. Has anyone tried to wire in a GM Flex Fuel sensor and seen any results?

i just did one of these the other day. Its pin 42 In he E90 however yes it will read the ethanol and give spark advance accordingly but doesn't seem to change the fueling. I tried to change the flex fuel multiplier and then the truck wouldn't start. seems to be a complete waste of time.

Thanks Ryan. I appreciate the information. Out of curiosity, what did you use for the install? Previous generation sensor and pigtail ran up to that pin?

FastV, did you ever get this figured out to work properly?? The local speed shop I deal with suggested adding a flex fuel sensor but I haven't found any kits specific for E90 ecm trucks. Kinda makes me think it still won't work to this day.

I'm sure lots of people find this in a search for E90 and Flex fuel. I added a sensor to mine and turned everything on in the tune and it works fine. 2020 Silverado 5.3 10 speed, E90 ecm. I had to populate a few empty tables and change some stuff that was already setup, but its working fine. It targets the correct air fuel ratio vs ethanol percentage and add timing with what I have in the map.

I used a DSX coupler and could fit the sensor in where the flex hose come off the fuel tank and goes into the hardline. I also built my own wiring harness. But I think a DSX kit for a 14-18 truck would work fine.

I was already out of fuel system with the magnuson on my truck. So, now that I know this works, I'll have to upgrade to an LT4 hpfp and injectors and I'm not sure what to do with the low side yet.

i have a deatschwerks 400 plus lph pump in my 2017 with the lt4 high pressure pump and lt4 injectors. I made over 800 crank hp with a eforce2650 and 10 psi on e50. Low side stays above 50psi and high commanded is around 3600psi with actual coming in at 2800 psi under full boost and high rpm.

    Check into thiers and see.

The 19+ trucks use a 4 wire 3 phase pump. DW makes a 440 brushless pump that looks like it would work. I'm not sure if the factory pump driver can run it to it's full potential.
