you should be able to scan and download your tune from your truck connect your mpvi and open the vcm editor and select flash at the top and it should say read vehicle and from there you will need to select gather info from there it will tell you what you can read and you will either select read entire or select if you want to read just the motor or trans ,etc... from here you will be able to see your stock tune you will not be able to save any changes to it intill you license the file for that you can connect and attempt to write the stock tune and it will automatedly tell you that you need credits and how many or if you need to resync you mpvi you can also got to the supported vehicle list to see how many your truck needs .MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PROPER BATTERY VOLTAGE AND A CHARGER CONNECTED this will prevent any issues with the ecm
i would also recommend you ask as many questions as possible and if you don't know what your doing or unsure ASK OR DONT DO IT you can seriously brick your ecm or destroy the motor or trans
i would recommend getting familiar with tuning terms and watch some of goat rope garages video on ls tuning ,even tho its for gm a lot if not all the tuning concepts applies and he has a full blown like 9 different series on getting into tuning as far as the mds it sounds the same as dod or displacement on demand i work on like gen1 so inm not entirely sure but i m sure there is videos on it you might see it in the stock tune you pull
