2009 Pontiac G8. Hitting rev limiter before shifting to next gear
Any tips on rev limiter issue. It hits the rev limiter before every shift. I have lowered the WOT mph tremendously and the WOT rpm down to around 5800. Still hits the rev limit at 6400 before shifting. The RPM in gear limits are set to 6400 also. The mph was at 36 from 1st to 2nd now around 14 which did help some but dont hit the rev limit and stay on it like it use too. I thinking the TCM is not seeing the torque it wants to see to make the shifts because the tires are spinning causing less of a load. Is there some torque settings that need adjusting too? 2009 G8, NA, btr stage 3, ls3 heads, 6l80, 3600 stall.

Need head room between rpm limiter and shift rpm. 200rpm is good.

Can trim down to 100rpm once shift points are dialled.

What I ment was the limiters are set to 6400. But the actual commanded shift RPM is set to 5800

I had a similar problem. May not be your issue but it does sound the same.

Im having a similar problem as TW and tried what TheM said in his post. When i did, my shifting peak RPM's lowered and it still shuddered. When i went the other way and did 1.1 it hit the rev limiter. I have 200 RPM's between max RPM and max shift RPM. I also changed gear ratio like TheM at a similar ratio change.
