    Base Timing Nitrous spark modifier

    Hi guys,

Just looking into some options for Nitrous timing retard without using external controllers or IAT tricks.

my tune file (0411 pcm) has an option for nitrous base timing retard.

Does anyone know what pin this relates to on the ECU connectors?

I have a attached a screenshot of the tune file and where it shows nitrous timing retard

Digging a bit further i found this in the System - General Tab.

I will have a play, seems like this points to ECU connector RED Pin 56.

Interesting. I've never seen that before. I have always heard of people using the IAT trick. Lmk how that works out.

EFI Live OS is the only place I've ever seen anything related to 'Nitrous'.

    Yep, EFI Live.

This one doesn't have that switch for pin 56 though. All the other stuff matches.

I'm from Australia, so the 0411 is programmed as a 2001 Holden Commodore Berlina 5.7 LS1.

This is what the Nitrous spark modifier table looks like. very basic but if it works will be perfect for what i need.

You have an EFI Live custom OS there. None of the nitrous stuff came from GM.

Post a screenshot of the Tune Details page showing the OS IDs (since you're not able to post the tune file itself).

    That's cool.

I think the news here is that HPtuners added in the definition custom EFIlive OS stuff. That's neat.

Yep thats EFI LIVE COS5 with Timing Retard
I use it on all the older trucks so they can have a 87/93 tune with flip of switch.

Just what i want to do with the nitrous, when its activated pull timing. I'm not worried about the VE multiplier as its a wet shot and i can control the AFRs with fuel jetting.
