    2019 Charger 6.4 Hunting Idle

I have a 2019 Charger with a 6.4 that has a Whipple 3.0, Kooks long tubes, and a BBK 100mm Hellcat throttle body.

The car runs great, except when its in park or neutral the idle will hunt up and down from around 800 to 1000 rpm. Its not a surge where it gets out of control and dies, but more if a smooth oscillation. When you put it in gear, it settles into its idle nicely.

I have adjusting the throttle body airflow tables up and down quite a bit, and nothing seems to affect it. If you look at the log, the throttle position voltage doesn't change. I'm thinking maybe its something in the spark tables, but I haven't come across anything.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

Off topic. How come you intake 144 and manifold 153 air temp are so high? Eng temp 190. You just get done with a hard run?

Mine are 95 and 104, eng temp 180.

My eng has the slight rolling idle also.

My tune is still in the tweeking stage.

Do you have the tune? I'd like to see what they use for Manifold volume.

Try swapping a stock throttle body and see if it gets better. I've seen several BBK throttle bodies have similar issues

The car had been on the dyno for a few hours at this point. During a pull they were down around 100.

I dont have my laptop with me right now, but I'll post the tune when I get a chance.

The car is going to come back for injectors and fuel system to run full e85, so I'll try that then. I was wondering if this was something that is common with the BBK throttle bodies.

Not sure about BBK. 690.00 will buy the N Williams 108mm, perfect for the gen5. I'm running it.

I'm running the FIC1200 with my E85 tune, don't think I've been over 75% DC. Couldn't see wasting another 800.00 for the ID1300

My biggest hurdle is getting the PCM to accept more the 200 Max MAP, 2.0 Pratio, anything above that and PCM goes nuts and eng breaks up.

Registering 15lbs boost now. Not sure if I'm being held back by not being able to set Max MAP to 250. Getting some help now on that issue, find out tomorrow if it works.

looking at the log MAP is 31, comparing my log it's 62.. I'm set to a 3-BAR though

My in gear idle timing is 4.8 5.0 at 950 RPM

My intake manifold absolute pressure is double yours 4.1 mine 9.1

    Your Pratio .28, mine .63

Guessing that follows were our MAPs are.

Only comparing, my knowledge of what all this means is limited.

you have a near perfect repeating wave going 2.0 to 4.3 timing

    Thanks for the input.

I dont think the 2019 ecus have the 2bar map limit like your 2013 does. I dont want to push a stock 6.4 that hard anyways.

I've had decent luck with the FIC1200's on Hellcats, so that's probably the route we will go. ID1300's really do tune nicely though.

The differences in MAP reading have to do with the fact that you have a cam in yours, where as this one is just a stock engine. I noticed the same thing with the timing swings as well, but can't figure out the cause.
