i have seen a lot of people have the 6.1 nag1 combo tunes and info here . I have a 6.1 545 in my 73 challenger and im running the 2004 dodge ram 1500 ecu to run this . Everyone tells me that im leaving a ton of power on the table running the stock computer . My question is does anyone tune for this combo i have here or could give me a base 6.1 tune? not sure to much on the dodge stuff with tuning , i just wanted to know what my options are with it .
Here's one with a 545 trans. I was working on this morning, WARRING: Knock sensors are Heavily modified and almost non-existent, and it's a BIG cam , 242/248 .600/.600 110cl , so the PE table will be very rich for a stock cam
You're leaving a ton a power on the table by using a the 545 transmission, the 46rh/re(518) trans is worth 35hp over the 545 (727 is about 50) , no mater what you do to the 545, also the 545 is not know for taking a beating...just my advice on the 545.....another thing is the 04/05 ECU's do not have a options for trans tuning.
As for stock computer , My 468ciG3 in it's 4600LBS fat-a$$ 04 ram runs 10.70s (naturally asperated) @130s with the OEM computer set up.
The guy who did my 468 in my 04 ram has an 04 Ram with a 441ci BGE base build , that went as fast as 9.80s@140mph(3500lbsrace weight) with the 04ecu,the RPM limit of 8160 held the truck back, put a halltech in it, went 9.39@145mp, through the traps @8600rpms, but snapped the cam just behind the 1st journal.
I know on the dyno with the MSDHemi-6 and a 1150 carb that 441 made just over 900ish, in the truck it made 840s with the OEM ECU, 50-70Hp difference, and that 441 has over .790lift cam, jesesl valve train(lifters,rockers)
Thank you for that so i guess i can use my stock fueling but load everything else into it ... I think ..Yes i know about the 545 . The car is nothing i race on the strip though its a cruiser with ac and all , it just has the 6.1 in it with the 545 ..
