Editor Read/Write grey, Application key won't save MVPI

Been using for years, now new Windows 11 laptop won't store my application key. Must paste in every time. (MVPI)

Having a lot of trouble with read/write being grey. Related?

Scanner works fine, but editor seems to require random combinations of shutting down and unplugging to make read/write work.

Is there a fix for these 2 issues?

VCM Editor 4.11.1397 Beta

VCM Scanner 4.11.1397 Beta also won't store my key.

I worry about updating to the "most recent stable version "4.12.4" which oddly shows up now as an option under "help/about" and didn't before.
I worry because I'm remote tuning with PCM of NC and we had issues in the past when I used stable & they use Beta.

Is it my version that's the issue? Thanks Keith for the response.

It's your version.

You can update to the latest release (4.12), or the latest beta (4.13) to resolve the issue.

I can't see how to update to the Beta one though. Can I do it through the software? I only see the stable one.
Edit: Got it, I just reinstalled from the site.
