3.5 XDI hpfp tuning

I just installed a XDI pump on my Fiesta St and had the same problem. The solution was increasing the pull in current to 6.12 Amps. At the stock settings (4.52 Amps) the solenoid was not pulling in. I guess it's not just a larger fuel pump piston, but a larger solenoid too. I measured ohms on both solenoid coils and stock was .8 ohms and XDI was .5 ohms so the math does work out.

That does make sense, being that it's rated for a higher pressure.
I'll have to remember that if I ever end up with a XDI pump, but I have a cheaper solution that might work out better... Not that I have the free money for that either right now... lol

It's not related to the pump being capable of higher pressure, it's due to the physical characteristics of the HPFP's solenoid.
