    Hi Bill, I’m new.
If I purchase a mates mpvi3 or one from marketplace, am I still going to be able to use it or do they get locked to an account?

Yes, however I always recommend contacting support prior to purchase so we can at least check the account for flags. This will help you keep fraud to a minimum.

Don't upgrade if you intend to be tuning older PCMs such as the GM p59, the 3 has unrecoverable bricked 3 of mine and the first one worked fine with the mpvi2 for years, the 3 won't log more than 2 channels for longer than 5 minutes(I could log everything indefinitely with the mpvi2 as long as I have enough memory)and will not work for high speed read or write like the mpvi2 would, HP Turner support was useless and after buying 800 dollars worth of license, and 300 for replacement bricks I'm religated to using my old jet dst for tuning it support spent a couple of emails and files back and forth until I just gave up....

What is your support ticket number? Tons of people using MPVI3 on older vehicles such as GM p59 without any issues. MPVI3 has been out for nearly 3 years, if it was a widespread problem you'd be hearing more about it.
