    Gen1 Coyote Table cross reference

    Quick question...

I have a customer that was having an issue with SCT and a spare torque source he couldn't find.

    Trying to help via HPT.

    "Pre-ignition limit"

We found it in HPT... does anyone know what table that equals in SCT to make sure we are changing the right one.

your looking for spark per-ignition limit Vs RPM Vs Load, which should be whats below

in SCT >SPARK> Under Idle> Max Spark Advance

Thanks I?ll look there. Dumb question on a 2011 Mustang Gt automatic transmission making about 650 at the tire with 12psi. Why would it run down the race track in that spark folder instead of borderline spark? There is no knock.

short answer due to Torque Control

I looked up this SPARK> Under Idle> Max Spark Advance and the timing in this table is 30+ and I'm only seeing 16/17 going down the track. Are you sure this is the right folder?

Yup, if the table your referencing in HP is "Pre-ignition limit". Besides Borderline knock, borderline tip in modifier, borderline tip in event, there is pre ignition for afr under piston protection. MAX Spark Advance limits SPARK, MOST OF THE TIME TUNERS MAX IT OUT SO IT DOESN'T AFFECT SPARK. Did you cross the reference the chart from SCT to what you found in HP? What is the setup? can you post datalog and tune file from SCT or HP?

The following spark source decode: In Livelink datalogg Borderline Spark, Max Allowed Spark, MBT Spark and Spark Source

in theory The max allowed/mbt table is used to clip the maximum spark that the engine will see. You may have a BKT that is much lower than the max allowed

    0 > Crank or underspeed
    1 > Base (MBT)
    2 > Borderline (BNK)
    3 > Torque control
    4 > Pre-ignition
5 > Cylinder pressure limit (not listed in LiveLink)
    6 > Stabilized low load
7 > Cold engine low load
8 > Idle feedback at minimum clip
    9 > Idle feedback
    10 > Spark set by on-demand self-test
    15 > Output State Control
16 > Foreground Spark Borderline Clip
    18 > Closed-Throttle Deceleration Spark
