5r110 shifts very hard into 5th

i have a built trans in my 2008 6.4 from sam wyse it shifts extremely hard into 5th. To the point where it chirps the tires or slams you in your seat what would be the best way to soften it up id o not want to hurt the transmission in the long run. TIA.

Shift pressure 3-5 reduce it in the areas you need it to stop slamming into gear.

there is also the adaptives tab: Torque transfer, Initial slip and overall slip you can use.

If your TC is engaged then you can try lock to lock shift table: reducing that will sometimes work.

I also tried to log the truck to find out exactly where my issue is but vcm scanner would not show the selected data.

If your trying to fix a hard shift you should be scanning trans pressure, shift lag (this is going to be the one that shows you how fast the shift is happening), trans gear and I think it?s element E for TC lock up.
