VCT distance to OP at WOT fluctuating

Ive noticed on WOT pulls on some, that VCT Distance to OP moves around a little biteven when VCT Scheduled Mode=Optimum Power. Is that just normal fluctuation of the cam phasers?

It's normal fluctuation, this PID might seem confusing when you look at it in the scanner. It has to do with commanded OP cam angles vs actual cam angles. I don't use or log this PID.

An example of this would be at the end of the log after you do your pull, you shift to the next gear and RPM drop to 5000 as you decelerate. OP angles are 0/12 at this RPM and your actual angles are 12/14. Distance to OP is 15.
Or at 3500 RPM before you go WOT, actual cam angles are 0 and 20, commanded OP angles are -20/21. Your distance to OP is 20.

Optimum Power will never show weight in the scanner on an S550. OP on an S550 is the IMRC open tables, 14-25. You have two main thresholds for OP which are Throttle Percent and Load. You also have some OP thresholds in the IMRC tab. I wouldn't get to focused on the distance to OP PID. Almost all coyotes will blend between MP as the cams phase.
