    Shift point/rev limiter question

I have a 408 stroker with a GM connect and cruise wire harness, TCI EZ TCU controlling a 4L80e. At the drag races I changed my shift point to 6500 from 6100 and my truck seemed to hit a rev limiter on my shifts each time. Any help for this newby would be appreciated.

What is the engine rev limiter? TCM shift points are when it commands the shift. It takes some time for all the mechanicals in the transmission to complete the shift. Shifting isn't instant. Depending on how loose the converter is you always have to lead the shift by a certain amount of rpm to get it to complete the shift where you want it to occur.. Every vehicle is going to be different on that amount. It usually comes down to trial and error.
