I just use the D235SEL regulator and convert the alternator over to a gen 3 style regulation. Works great. You will then get full alternator output instead of a 13.2 volt approx locked %50. Lots of video's and pages dedicated to GEN 4 alt fix.
If you read this far the reason is the ECM is in charge of alternator output "CONTROL" while the BCM is in charge of telling the ECM what it would like it to put out. It uses a neat little program that determines need, battery condition, and other inputs to give a data communicated request to the ECM that produces the alternator command. Since you will not be using a BCM any more than this is the fix along with a little DTC "fixin".

Forgot to add. Always run the sense wire to you fuse block and not to the back of the alternator. It will respond better to fluctuations in voltage.
