Every bricked 97-98 style PCM I've seen you couldn't read or write to it after it bricked. You will usually also lose the fuel pump prime with key on...
There are a lot of tables involved here. It will be hard to solve this without a tune, log, and a stock file to compare to as well as a list of mods...
