jsut because you have a cam signal doesn't mean it's right...
Your gonna want to try and play with the ve and maf table in the startup cells then to get it to start right. May be rich or lean...
did you try replacing the sensor? and you are looking at the cam sensor on the fron of the motor if its an ls2 right?
post your mods and tune and someone can give you a ve map to start wiht.
MEFI is what a lot of the sandraila dn boat guys use, I do a lot of work for a local marine shop.
MEFI is batch fire so it works fine in boats as they are almost always at wot or somewhere close...

In your high/low octane timing tables it commands little to no iming off the line, post a log and tune to verify.
I have found that on some of the newer cars (05+) you need to save your tune in hp tuners and maybe even flash teh comptuer a few times for the engine code changes to take effect.

check your cam position sensor, probably malfunctioning or wired backwards. pretty common on ls1/ls2 swaps, and that is the exact symptom of the problem.

get a custom pid for ve afr error vs maf hz, and adjust from there...
need tos tart by getting the ve table right with maf off, then connect maf and go forward from there.
stock compression of 10.9:1 and 7 psi, depending on turbo size, you may just be at the limit of your fuel...

is it a mass air car do you have a 2 bar os? etc.. tune would help a lot.

Just install the wideband and then tie up the sensor with some zip ties, and poke a hole in the floor closes top that under the carpet on the...
check your rocker arms for loose ones, headers for clearance on the firewall etc..

try adjusting thsi table to fatten it up a bit at part throttle..
maybe a bit of maf, or some ve... hell just tune the thing..
stock fuel pump was probably dropping pressure off, but the 2000-2001 camaro ss had a recall for ringland failure on #7 I believe too.
May want to check with your dealer, I know a few guys down...
