With a cam, VVE will be way off. Most tuners cheat doing the VVE tuning by simply lowering the dynamic airflow rpm to a below idle rpm, that way you basically run a maf only tune. (The right way is...

I have to agree, I got burned one time from my own stupidity when I was new at this. My reasoning on it: I was stupid, but I would have thought it super good customer care if they gave you a break on...
So on the ngauge site, it says: Tuning can be enabled by our partner companies
What does that mean from my end, using HPT, and how would it work?
So, I want to use my HPT to tune vehicles for a shop, but some customers cars are located in states far away. Is there an option to send them a device to collect logs, then I can create a flash and...
Ben, you are correct IF and only IF you have a wideband O2. Most cars I street tune do not have wideband sensors. That's why I use LTFT.
You dont need a wideband or a dyno. Just make a tune file setting pe to 1.0, disable transient, disable dfco. drop timing 5 degrees. flash the file and log in forced closed loop and forced fuel trim...
The tire and gear settings wont do it for you. All you have to do is change the pulses per mile either up or down.
Injector flow rate vs IAT is probably the answer I am looking for, going to do some experimenting.
Typical answer.... Let see, this is posted in Gen4 forum, it's NOT vehicle specific (All gen 4 ECM's richen with higher IAT). Makes it a little hard tuning MAF when it heats up halfway through...
Anyone know off the top of their head where to stop this damn thing from going rich when IAT temps come up? Pretty much drove me nuts the last two days.
All you have to do is set the TCS enable temp to any temp above normal operating temps, like say 492?
Has anyone been able to find a way to fix the issue with speedometer dropping out on launch when using higher than stock stall torque converters? My stupid you know what decided to go with a 2600 RPM...
Exactly. Turn that copy/paste back on. I really don't care if someone stupid screws up axis values and such, we aren't kids.
LOL...Like a big family reunion in this thread.
Did you ever think air goes through all 8 holes at idle? None of them close perfectly and all leak past the shaft openings.
What happens if you set for area of all 8 holes combined for the max...
Honestly, it's a pain. I agree there is no good reason to require licensing to edit a tune. HPT doesn't really care if you post your tune all over the internet, heck that's why there is a tune...
Nope...you can't really turn off your maf and run right, plus bluecat program never gives accurate values (compare by inputting the same values it generates over and over...it will come out different...
I see the same thing. There is something off and it's been like this the whole time (almost two years). Just goes to show...close enough generally works because the MAF helps keep it running.
I think it's something in the PCM. What would cause a 2 second delay before it goes lean? One would think 2 seconds of WOT is enough for the vacuum/boost transients due to throttle changes to have...
They run better richer. You can verify yourself, log a few 0-100 runs, add 2% to your PE, log a few more 0-100 runs, etc... Add calculated torque pid and display as well. If you export the logs to...
Just read this entire post...following.
I know about the 2.1 seconds thing...my TBSS (E67 PCM) does it as well right after stall. I did not notice it the problem the stock transient and PE delay...
It can be done, but you have to force closed loop and have timing backed off to keep piston/exhaust temps down. The only real difference is less power while dialing in the trims. Using a wideband is...
The difference is the small overlap on a stock cam versus the large overlap you now have, may require completely stopping spray on the backside of the valve where the stock cam allowed it.
That is what I was hoping to hear, thanks.
5banger, when you export back to HPT, you are saying the export process identifies the Zone Map Boundaries table by the correct name or does it call out the PRatio name for you too?
