AIR pump is either gone or disabled, right? If still active
then this is a likely culprit.
First you need to determine whether knock is steady
state, or transient. They have different solutions.
Gross mixture will have some effect on transient ping
but the right answer is elsewhere.

Might look first at the desired airflow tables for trans
in gear, I believe I've seen different R than D/OD fields
and maybe these have not been properly updated?
I would not think that trans...
Transitional throttle is always a "special case" and stuff
goes on that takes you off the "map" developed by
steady-state / "averaged" tuning methods.
Lifting throttle from high RPM puts you at...
Misfiring will also produce indicated-lean results on
NBO2 and LSU4 WBO2 sensors. You can even get to
so rich that misfiring gives you a lean reading (been
there) - along with false trimming even...
So add every one of the various spark retard components
to your PID list (along with total advance) and see who's
bugging. Add the advance sub-components too (just in
case they are negative).

I recommend beginning with clean (OE) tune files from
the donor vehicles ('99 Vette, '01 Camaro) but also one
from a vehicle that does a better job of trans settings
(like for example my '02...
Do you have the right kind of A/C pressure sensor for
the PCM? PCM is supposed to guesstimate compressor
shaft load and work back to an airflow adder based on
IAT and A/C pressure (and maybe some...
Scan for TCC_MODE and see if it reports LOCKED or --3--
(do not command lock, for reasons such as misfires).
Look at TCC_Duty and see if you're getting full apply
commanded. Look at force motor...
The problem lies in how you are going to "adjust" it. What
do you think you know, how do you know your reference
instrument is more trustworthy than the thing you're
trying to calibrate? Neither...
I always like to ask what makes you think the MAF is
inaccurate. It's probably more accurate than fuel trims
at low RPM with a high overlap cam (and LSU4 wideband
meters suffer the same from...
Can you see any immature codes when this is happening?
When you say "idle is lost" does that mean it just flops
and dies on pedal release? What happens if you feather
it down to near-idle? This...
Are you on the hook for non-warmed-up emissions, or just
concerned in a general way?
What are you really trying to achieve?
Might look at misfires (cylinder mode, current, all 8)
to see if there's any clue about single cylinder issues.
Failure to fire puts a lot of unused air right into the
exhaust and the sensor will...
Long trims roll up way too much random crap / history. Short
trims are not that much better. Especially if your fuel trim cell
covers a wide range of RPM (like stock 4th gen F-bodies) the
averaged...
Reduced power fault mode I think comes from disagreements
between alpha-N, speed density, MAF airflow mode and maybe
on DBW vehicles, between desired and actual throttle position.
"Bad tune" might...
Here's what I pulled out of mine when I bought it (used)
Question to me is whether you get more power and more
efficiency out of a fat mixture and early spark, or lean
and late. This has a lot to do with combustion particulars
and I think you want to...
Cam swaps (on any cam worth installing) jack your low
end VE (pumping efficiency) and you need to make the
tables match the new reality. Right now your old table
is saying that more air is taken...
Match them for tuning just so things stay put. When you
are all done, to where there's no KR showing anywhere
but timing is tight, shave a couple off the LO table just
for bad luck like lousy gas,...
I'd take a step back and check the basics before
you try to "tune" anything. Such as fuel pressure.
Just because you can get a "right answer" according
to a sensor, doesn't mean you got it the...
MAF physical size and MAF calibration (Hz/(g/sec)) are
not related other than by whatever's in the electronics.
What you want is a manufacturer's calibration curve.
Which for Delphi standard parts...
This capability exists on some widebands, but it may make
a "laggy" output due to filtering behaviors which can be a
destablilizing influence. I doubt you will get any better
steady state...
What about bumping the rev limiter past where you'll set it
for driving, just for purposes of tuning? You always want
the map to go further than the operating range. Then set
it back when done.
