What are your thoughts about Texas Speed MS4 cam which previewed in GM High-Tech Jan 07 issue? http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=666&catid=20

I will never purchase anything from TSP again, ever. I think MS4 speaks for it self, in the fact that it took them MS1, MS2, MS3 and now a 4th revision. Spend your money with someone who takes the extra time to do it right the first time. I run an F13 and it has not been "revised" and you can still buy the same specs today. The MS4 will drive poorly, make poor low end power, and still will not put out any spectactular numbers for peak power for the size of it. I would recommend heading to Futral or Thunder Racing if you want an off the shelf cam.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has taken the time to point me in the right direction. In the end the car will have a 3,000 vigilanti, a Patriot stage II head & cam pkg, 228/228 some Lt's, and a fast 90....or a 232/234.

    Thanks again,

    Bill

The F13 cam is a great cam, great streetability and great numbers. Just had a M6 F-body on the Mustang dyno. Car had headers, lid, and true duals. Made 419rwhp and 378rwtq (stock gear). AFR was an average 12.9 with PE set to 1.13 (fluctuated between 12.8 and 13.1), I highly recomend that cam as well as the LG5x3's and LG5x4's.

I would suggest some ssauto chrome (ebay headers). I got a set and they are nice ss headers with nice welds for less than 1/2 the price of some of the big name ones.

You guys who dynoed those cams, I see your peak hp, what did the curve look like? Have any pics of the dyno sheet?

I have my dyno sheet posted in the lounge section. The tq curve on the F13 is great.

very true. I just did an 239/244 today, and besides the fact that it had no balls down low, I was able to get it to drive very smoothly.

Been eyeballing that F13 and looked at your dyno....impressive! How's your bottom end on the street under normal driving....or do you subscribe to any "normal" driving? So many awesome choices

bottom end with that cam and compression is great. I can accelerate very well in 5th gear in the low end. A quick stab at the throttle in a low gear low rpm will set you back in the seat as well. That mixed with the 4.30 gears made street tires about useless through 3rd and still leaves 1st and 2nd kind of iffy with the drag radials.

you can do that with less lift even and a wider lobe if you wanted. the converter change would be a big plus in performance though. I have not even installed my cam yet but i have installed the converter. it has its negative side and takes a while to get used to. mine is over kill. honestly i did not like it untill i learned how to drive with it wnd found out what you can do with one (spanked an m6 06 vette, both times we raced) now i like it and it is my best mod. i think you will love the cam you selected but the lift is on the wild side (high maintenance too).
