I had to take the truck to a transmission shop to have the transmission rebuilt. They installed a triple disk lock up converter, upgraded clutches, and valve body. Once they were done with it and I picked it up something didn?t seem right with the shifting and if I really tried to get in the middle of it, it would down shift but would throw the RPMs up around 6000 and wasn?t going anywhere. The guys at the transmission shop said that it had something to do with the way that the truck was tuned. I called Arrington performance and ask them about it and they told me that since I didn?t have the transmission rebuilt at the time of the engine swap that they didn?t touch the transmission side of the tuning and was still set with the factory parameters.
After driving the truck for 2 or 3 weeks back and forth to work the transmission failed. The transmission shop said that the torque converter was smoked and it was because of it constantly slipping and never locking up. Also they told me that it has everything to do with the way it was tuned, which doesn?t make any sense whatsoever because the transmission was never tuned.
Is there anybody out there that can help me or point me in the right direction?
