When is there going to be a digitally signed driver for HPTuner?
Its on our todo list but I'm not sure when we'll be able to get to that.

I just went through this with my new vista laptop.
Go to www.ftdichip.com/drivers/d2xx.htm
In the comments next to the second driver down (2.04.06) there is a hot link "setup executable" download that and run it on your computer. After that hptuners should install with no problem. That is what fixed it for me.

Hmm. I just use unsigned (not WHQL anyway) drivers and said screw it (just installed vista 64 for the first time cause I upgraded to 4gb of ram).. They seem to work fine.

97 Grand Prix GTP (not going to bother listing mods in detail) 1 messed up 97 PCM with about 30-50% of a 2003 calibration and parts of a few others.
So did every one get hptuner to work on there vista 64bit because i just ordered a new labtop with vista 64 and im going to buy hptuners but im worryed that i wont be able to get it to work and that file you all are downloading 2.04.16 is that just a update of it?
What about Windows7 ??
It has the same issue with unsigned drivers ?? I'm running the beta and getting it refusing to load....I'm going to try this workaround posted above, but looks like HP is going to have to release one soon for when the next Windows ships
Just puchased a new Dell Inspiron with Vista. I have tried all of the posted remedies and still cannot make it work. I have verified the HP Tuners MPVI channel A & B are installed and the driver alterations recommended in the forum also completed. The message I receive is: "The interface was not found or is not responding. Verify it is connected properly and that the vehicles diagnostic port has power."
Ignition is on and power light on the tuner is on; Anyone have any suggestions, thanks for any assistance.
Gilbedr did you try the f8 thing. Also do you have windows 64bit or windows 32bit?
I have spent at least sixty hours trying every suggestion found in this forum (and I appreciate all the help suggested), however tolerance has given way (my wife is complaining about the number of times I have used the "MF" comment). I requested Best Buy to load XP but they declined, so this afternoon I dropped it off at a computor specialty shop to have XP installed. I am hoping this resolves the problem.
I've tried everything and nothing seems to work for me.
Here's my error:
