Help Please 2015 Ram 1500 5.7 MDS disable Failed to write

    Hello,
I just deleted a 5.7 hemi removing the cam and lifters. I downloaded the PCM's OEM file and saved it. then change the MDS to disable and attempt to upload the "calibration". I keep getting a "failed" message with " invalid checksum ". When I double-checked the car with an Autel scanner it stated the PCM is not programmed. I sent in my files to HP, they got back to me fairly quickly. They said both files look fine. I was dealing with PETE at HP. It was late Friday and we ran out of time. I have performed this many times in the past but not 2015+ I have to give the customer an update Monday so I am reaching out here to see if anyone else has experienced this. We do you a Flash compatible Charger when flashing any vehicles. so voltage is not a problem. if anyone from hp tuner is looking the support ticket # is 408007.
Thanks for anyone and everyone's time in advance.

I assume this is a big problem since no one has commented.

It's slow around here nowadays and you're posting on a Sunday. Don't expect an answer instantly. Also, you haven't posted a tune file or files. You need to post up the unmodified file and the modified. Also a screen shot of what it says when you try to flash it.

You need to make sure the battery is fully charged.

You may want to try writing the original unmolested tune file back to the car and see how that goes.

Thanks for the info. I did attempt to reload the original tune with the same results. HP tuners support did receive both files and they said they looked fine. I also downloaded the latest version of the software. I have to wait in order to post the files they are located on a dedicated computer. Enjoy your day and thanks again.

here are the files that were used. The current code read by an Autel scanner is P1602 Pcm Not programmed. I do want to note that the write was "write Calibration" not write entire"

Have you tried the Beta version? Is this a PCM that went in for an unlock service?

Yes I used the beta version, and no it was never sent in to be unlocked I sent the files to support, and they didn't mention anything about unlocking the ecu. Is that what needs to happen?

Do you know if they can do it remotely? And I wonder why they didn't mention that on Friday when I contacted support.

It should give you a warning on you flash screen. I wonder if this one is a late 14 and not a real 15.

Connect your interface and with no tune file open, click "flash" then "gather info". Take a screen shot of that.

Also, if you know how to collect an info log, do so while connected to the car with the key on, engine off. Post that log here.

HPT support should have asked you for an info log.

No. I want you to attempt to read it again. But don't read it. With no tune file open in your editor, click "flash" then "read vehicle" then in the next box click "gather info". Post a screen shot of that.

So when you click on "gather info" that's what it says? Detect protocol failed?

It's looking like that PCM needs to be "cracked".
