Med 17.5.21 Can not read ECU

    Hi guys!
I recently bought the new HP-tuner mpvi3, installed beta suit, registered my device successfully.
And it failed to read the ecu. I have loaded it with 2 universal credits and i also try to recync my device.
It detected my ECU version correctly, but it stops there.
I have ofc internet in my laptop thru my phone and have my device correctly pluged in.

    Edit: My car is a Golf MK7 1.4TSI 2015

    What have I done wrong?

    Best regards

    Newbie Oskar

What is the error that comes up when you try to read the ECU? It is possible they just do not have the OEM file for your ECU. If you create a service ticket they can often get that taken care of for you.

Uhm, when it starting to read my ECU it can identify it as a med 17.5.21....but after that it says : Faild

On their website my exact ecu will be find there. So it should read my ecu without problem.

    Sounds good.
I have similar issues with a Dodge vehicle... after sharing info file and such, an updated Beta version solved my issues.

    Keep us posted.

Welll, I did try the newest beta version and it was also failing.
I did try to read my friends SKoda (Med 17.5) to see if the problem was my car or not, and i didnt manged to read out his ecm as well.
I think there is an other issue rather then my computer/setup. When I did stage 1 by a tuner he could easy do that via my odb-interface.
I think I have to get a stockfile and use my credit to write it in and there fore "unloock" my ecu. Could that be a solution?

    Hey guys,

A quick update, HP-tuners will take this matter to their expert team.

Thank you for contacting Support Oskar

I have escalated this issue to engineering for further research. Issues are addressed based on priority, complexity, and availability of the appropriate engineer. Unfortunately, I can't give you a timeline for when our engineering team will be able to solve this problem. When an resolution is complete or further information is required we'll reach out to you.

If there is others out there who has the same problem regarding VAG, pleace write to me, and perheps this will get futher in line.

I gave them a stock file and my VIN and OS number (.bin not .hpt) in hope they will fix this.
It only took 1 day and i recived a message that i have to download the latest beta and it might work.
So i did it and tried to read my ECU, and now it finaly worked !!

Their help have been very good and they replayed to all my massage very fast.

Well...When i finaly was ready to do my first write to my ecu some bad happend. I did what everyone else and include HP-is recomended to do...Write calibration.
Now my ecu is bricked haha. I did get some help from a tuner and he manged to recover my ecu, and he told me that i was not suposed to write calibration. Cuz of that my ecu wasent able to correct my checksum. My ecu is supose to work, but my car other memory says something else. Well....HP-tuner might not be the best choise for europen cars ive heard.
