    Global B MAF Scaling procedure

    For those who started tuning these new platforms how did you get to disable speed density?

    So on the Gen5 :-

    1-DFCO, Disable Deceleration Fuel Cutoff in tables 2290 & 2291
    2-Engine , Fuel Turn off COT ; disable table 200
    3-Fuel , O2 sensors, disabling Open loop ; O2 Readiness Table 2529
    and finally Disabling speed density through disabling dynamic air flow! tables 3003 & 3033

    The thing is on Gen 5 we can disable speed density but on Global B "Or let me say on Gen 5.5" you do not have these tables for Dynamic air anymore

    Any thoughts?

    Just dial in the MAF and VE at the same time in normal closed/open loop operation. You can kill dfco, but don't go open loop. MAF is cake walk compared to the hpt VE editor If you're adding boost you'll need to change the max load settings for the NN then the VE tables will update for the added pressure ratio.

    Appreciate your response but it's too much to go through the VE and the NN stuff right now while I am just running bolt-ons on my 2022 5.3 truck. scaling the MAF and working on spark and trans tuning is what I am doing at the moment.

    is there a correct way or different approach to dial in the MAF only on these Global B trucks & SUV's? the Old Gen's are straight forward!

    These guys can be touchy and have a lot of codes that can be set from map/maf/throttle correlation. If you're having to adjust the MAF then it might require you to adjust the VE. I would log for VE corrections just to be sure it's not way out. You can also log the VE correction factor as a channel to see how bad things are currently out, but basically the VE and MAF need to stay pretty close. You can try to dial in just the MAF and you may be just fine. I would just keep an eye on the correction factor.

    I'm with Greg on this one. You can't "MAF only" tune these things. The Neural Network trainer is a pain at first but it must be done. If you're bolt on only and you're trying to dial in the MAF table to get the trims closer, I wouldn't worry about it unless it's setting a code or codes.
