Not sure this is the best place to post this, but couldn't find much else closer than a sister/cousin Audi/VW sub-post. Since Porsche falls under VW group, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a shared ECU component somewhere. I know lots of other parts I've replaced on my vehicle for example have Audi or VW stamps on them and are also meant for the VW Touareg or Audi Q5/Q7 or something. Alas, Porsche did "do their own thing" on the higher end model Turbo and Turbo S like I have i.e. no shared VW/Audi engine like the lower models.

I digress. What I wouldn't give for HPTuners to support flashing/tuning the ECU/PCM on my 2011 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. It's really slim pickings for aftermarket tuning... and there aren't that many tuners/vendors/options. Especially if you want someone with real experience beyond something like a simple "Stage 1" canned OTS map flash on otherwise 100% stock setup (which is where many just seem OK to stop at). There are a handful of us weirdos out there who are trying to push the limits with custom exhaust, intake, chargepipes, downpipes, turbos, methanol injection, throttle body, bypass valves etc.

Current aftermarket tuning option(s) really only are available through this Dimsport MyGenius... Per their supported vehicle list, they used the same ECU in many models for many consecutive years i.e. mine: 4.8L V8 32V TURBO 383kW/514HP CONTINENTAL SDI8. So I think the ECU is the CONTINENTAL SDI8.

It's very frustrating because as far as "reputable tuners" go for this platform using this specific handheld hardware flasher, there's really only about 2 guys total. At least that have any experience pushing this platform beyond simple upgrades as I mentioned. And it'll set you back nearly $2000 for the tune service and the handheld tuning device. And supposedly it gets locked to the vehicle/tuner, so you end up stuck with them more or less unless you want to start all over with another tuner and spend another $2k probably. And at least the tuner I used, it's very hard to get him to reply to communication. I understand, he's probably busy and I certainly may have long winded questions, but I'm trying to do everything correct and safe i.e. just added WMI and just trying to talk about plans on how to tune for that, how and what I should be datalogging for him etc. And although I paid for an initial OTS tune and "up to 1-2 re-tune revisions", it's been very difficult getting responses consistently. I don't know if this is partly because there's so few tuners for this platform available that they are just overwhelmed and busy, or if it could also partly be because they know there's very little competition in this market, they can respond as quickly or as slowly as they want knowing you don't have a lot of other places to go lol.

Speaking of datalogging, that's another nightmare I'm trying to accomplish via HPTuners, hence why I'm here. Thank god the VCM Scanner allows me to connect and read my vehicle and datalog and read/clear DTC CEL codes! It's not exactly ideal to have an OBD cable hooked up to an open laptop sitting on the passenger seat while I try to do a few aggressive WOT pulls to gather log data and I cannot for the life of me get the MPVI2+ I have to connect to any laptop via Bluetooth. I got as far as pairing it to one laptop, but then VCM Scanner just wouldn't see/connect whatsoever via Bluetooth and I was forced to use USB cable... Since then, I've been looking into the HPTuners TDN app. I got that to successfully connect to my phone(s) via Bluetooth, update the MPVI2+ firmware, and be able to datalog. However, I couldn't select WHAT parameters to datalog... and then though I have a few log files saved/uploaded in my app/profile on TDN, it seems mostly useless because I can't pull them down on my computer or the web TDN app and review these logs in some Excel file format.... like, it seems designed more so if you already have a tuner you're working with via HPTuners to flash your ECU map, you can do the datalog via the TDN app and upload these log files to the tuner for them to review, make flash map edits, then send a new map back to you also via the TDN app. And since HPTuners doesn't support flashing/tuning my ECU, we're back where we started (screwed).

Oh did I also mention even if I say, had a passenger to hold the laptop while connected via USB/OBD2 and running HPTuners VCM Scanner datalogging, there are parameters my tuner requested I log for that simply aren't available in HPTuners? Or, maybe it's a limitation of my ECU. But, you'd think a no brainer parameter would be turbo boost pressure. And all I can find is Intake Manifold Pressure, which unless you're subtracting the delta between what it reads when the vehicle is IDLE (something higher than 0psi, I forget, like 5 or 6psi) and then what it reads when at WOT (something like 23psi) maybe that will tell you what kind of boost pressure the turbos are adding? Idk. My tuner literally asked for these values, which are not all found in HPTuners or are called something else that I cannot locate:

With HP tuners we?re looking for
RPM
LOAD (NOT SAE, IT GETS STUCK AT 100%)
IGNITION ADVANCE
THROTTLE POSITION
LONG TERM BANK ?
SHORT TERM BANK ?
ACTUAL LAMBDA BANK ?
MASS AIR FLOW
INTAKE AIR TEMP
BOOST PRESSURE
INJECTION TIME

I don?t believe it?ll give us knock values, or cam stuff. Most of the stuff you?re mentioning will adapt. It?s mostly the meth injection that?s going to be the big deal.
I'm now at a point trying to explore random OBD2 Bluetooth dongle ECU data scanners like from Autel, et.al. Unless anyone has any input or suggestions, I'm all ears! Or, eyes in this case. THanks in advance!!!!!!!
