TDN app keeps crashing

Hi there,

Recently tried to update a tune on a 2018 mustang GT. I used an Iphone, the iphone and the TDN app are both fully updated. When I used the app previously I had no errors or crashing. Last used the app about 6 months ago. When I try to sync files to make the tune the tuner sent is properly loaded the TDN app crashes. If I try to sync credits, it crashes, if I try to data log the app crashes.

The app crashing is just the app self closing immediately, no error etc, it just closes really fast.

Any idea what to do?

Hey there! This was a known issue that we unfortunately could not avoid when changing some things around with our Apple account, so apologies for the annoyance. Basically the connection information for your interface has been partially lost and the app is choking on that partial information and trying to open the connection anyway, hence the crash. To fix this should be pretty straightforward:

1) Power on your MPVI/RTD device, and press and hold the Bluetooth button for 10 seconds. It will start slowly flashing, then rapidly flash, indicating it's been reset.
2) Open your iOS Settings, and locate your MPVI/RTD device in the Bluetooth devices paired list. Tap the info icon next to it and tap Forget.
3) Open TDN and go to First Time Setup in the Settings view, and go through the setup process as normally. Your device should now be back to normal.

Don't worry about your data! Any tunes, logs, etc. are all just fine.

@Mike@HPTuners Dude thank you so much!! I hate to say that I am glad someone else was having the issue that I was having but if not for that I may have never gotten my tune fixed. I was sitting on a full tank of 93 while still on my E85 tune and thinking I was going to have to get towed to a shop JUST to drain out the 93 so I didn't grenade my motor. Anyone who is having this app crashing issue on iOS please just follow the steps mentioned above and you should be good to go. Usually I am the guy who lurks but this case called for a profile creation just to express my gratitude. Also, BIG shoutout to Wengerd Performance for having some of the best customer service out there right along this guy Mike!!
