    Liscensing Problem

I have an unlimited liscense on this vehicle type and model year. Flashed a PCM during the tuning process on a truck and now HP Tuners software has decided to lose its mind. I was in the middle of tuning a vehicle, started telling me unliscensed vehicle. Then looked at flashing the old file back into it and it asks for credits. Both files are the same vehicle type and model year which I have an unlimited liscense on. I have done the simple stuff multiple times. Restarted the laptop, disconnected the interface on both ends to reset it, verified my key was correct, and resynched the interface.

I had that happen once when my laptop hard drive disconnected during a highway log. It must have corrupted something in the hpt files, because nothing fixed it until I completely removed and reinstalled the programs. I have also had it give me the unlicensed file bs in the middle of tuning until I resynched everything, but you said you already tried that.

I ended up driving down to Summit and picked up a MPV3. Would have done the upgrade path, but I was in the middle of a tune for a customers truck when it did that on me. Weirdly my MPVI wrote to my personal P59 but not that 0411. The MPV3 wrote to that 0411 after licensing it. Works out anyway because I read my 2011 Nissan Pathfinder, set up some histograms and have it mostly dialed in now after a couple reflashes. That one has had bolt-ons for a few years running with the Hypertech 93 octane tuning it has had since it was basically new. I read the Hypertech 93 tune, returned it to stock tune, then read the stock tune. Figured out a flawed method Hypertech used to adjust the fuel delivery at WOT that resulted in it richening back up after it had run for a while. They reduced values in the MAF/RPM fuel compensation table but left the same target air/fuel ratio, thus ECU would see it running lean and just add fuel back into it as it learned the fuel corrections from the factory widebands.

Dialing in a factory MAF based system with dual widebands is incredibly simple. Screenshot was after the second revision. WOT was spot on, still cleaning up the part-throttle fueling a bit, but it is much closer now. Runs so much more smoothly and has a lot more torque now.

I used to make runs to the Talmadge Summit for myself and several associates before they opened the Mcdonough location near my house. Which location are you near?

There's an easy fix for this. Go to -> Documents/HPtuners/Settings and move the license file to your desktop or delete it entirely.
