Turning vats off GTO

Can you disable the vats on a GTO to start with a Solid key or the keyreader doesnt need to make contact? was told the fob functions will still operate lock/unlock/trunk correct? Does the alarm function still work with vats disabled with fob functions without needing a fob keyreader contact to start or in other words a solid key? 2004 GTO

On my c5 corvette someone on the forum had helped me get rid of the steering column locked, pull key wait 10 seconds issue with the lmc5/lcm5 installed it still ran into those issues by changing General, vats, steering column lock, VSS fuel cut off from 2mph to 200mph where the car would drive even with the message displayed.
