    Spare PCM for 2 BAR

Getting prepped for the 2 BAR OS this weekend for my truck. I want to buy a spare PCM to keep my current OS and tune on in case of failure of any type with the new OS...

Question is... What is the pcm part number for a 2004 GM Truck and where is the best place to buy the spare pcm other than the typical junk yard search?

Be fore warned that a used ECM will require you to spend an extra two credits from your license options, for you to flash it to your OEM OS. There are no worries about the 2-BAR OS malfunctioning, and if it does, you can simply flash your OEM OS back in and have no money spent. It is always a good idea to keep all the OEM stock files, just in case. Now, if you still would like to go with a spare ECM, then your cheapest route would be to go through eBay or the classifieds of LS1Tech or PerformanceTrucks.net ... or any other GM truck forums (LS1truck.com, gmfullsize.com, fullsizechevy.com, etc ...) I typically get my ECMs from eBay for around $45 shipped. Good luck!

I realize the hit on HP Tuner credits, but this is my daily driver and I want to keep a spare pcm with my current tune as backup just in case I have a need to pop it in to get the truck on the road.

    Thanks for the info....

Oh, also you will need to keep the stock 1-BAR MAP sensor on hand, when you switch back to your OEM computer.

Funny you mention that. I am currently running my 2 BAR MAP in tandem with the stock 1 BAR just as an analog input into HPT.... the 195 kPA readings keep driving me nuts to get to the 2 BAR SD OS... that and the 64 lb/min readings on the MAF input....
