    MPVI Killing battery?

The last two cars I plugged the MPVI to fail to load the bootloader after this happens the car won't start. To fix the problem I hooked up the jumper cables to get the voltage back up again and then have to keep trying and trying to read the vcm until it works. Sometimes 5 or 6 tries. For some reason upon trying to read the vcm's the battery dies. What could be the problem?

yeah..the MPVI can drain a battery
and if you dont have a good charge you can basically cause vats to kick in

so get teh volts back up and then do a read so that it resets the pcm vats state and all should be good

I've had this happen before too

yeah...leave it pluged in for a few hours unattended.....see how it make the vehicle not start.LOL
only thing that might save you is if your vehicles auto shut off for accessories also kills power to the OBD2 port

mines been plugged in for days at a time and never killed the car...hadn't even noticed anything. Don't know if it turns off though, I'll check.
