The tranny would be shifting into 5th with 3.42's. Don't know that's all that bad but may lose some et. First gear would be an awfully quick gear too. I would go with a converter first.

Ok, how about 2.73's or 3.15's then?
Then again with TM off, your shifts should be pretty darn quick.

A Converter is the only way to go with this already low first gear ratio. I would venture to say that a gear would give almost zero improved et with a previously installed 4000 rpm stall converter. I use 4000 because my peak torque is 4500. Stall should be approximately 500 rpm below peak torque.

On the other hand, that 2.73 gear would help out 6th gear acceleration at cruise speeds. It's pretty sluggish with this 2.56. A 3.15 would probably hurt fuel economy somewhat where as the 2.73 would make very little difference. Maybe even get better.

Try this excel sheet and see where you would put it.

Rename the extension from .txt to .xls and you're good to go. It's an Excel file but the forum size limit is too low for it.

Trans, Torque Management, on the right hand side under Torque Reduction, upshift change to Disable.

Be ready for a Godzilla shift on that 1-2!

    With a 4.02:1 1st gearratio, you dont want 3.42 gears. Thats a 13.75:1 1st gear final drive ratio. With the older 4l60e a 3,06 1st gear and a 4.10 gear is a 12.55:1 1st gear final ratio. A 3.06 gear 4l60e and a 4.56 rear gear is 13.95:1. That is a very short 1st gear.

The only way to lessen the amount of rpm drop between the 1-2 shift would be to install a looser converter or actually change the gears in the transmission.
A 4.02 with the stock 2.56:1 gears gives you 10.32:1 and with te optional 2.73 rear gears give the auto Vette an 11:1 1st gear final ratio.

Here are the gear ratios of the 6l60e 6 speed auto.
    First: 4.03
    Second: 2.36
    Third: 1.53
    Fourth: 1.15
    Fifth: 0.85
    Sixth: 0.67
    Reverse: -3.06

When I used to do a WOT 1-2 shift at 5500 rpm, with the stock TC I would drop down to 3300rpm, now with the looser TC, at 5500 rpm shift will result in a drop to 3800 rpm in 2nd gear. A marked improvement as the engine doesnt come down out oif its powerband.

I really doubt you would lose control of a C6 LS2 Vette during the 2-3 shift. I can see it getting sideways on a hard 1-2 shift., but not the 2-3. Thats a 2.35:1 down to a 1.53 ratio.

I giess dragradials will be the norm for these 6 speed autos.

What converter do you have? I haven't found one for an A6 Corvette.

Maybe Mothra and King Kong were around when we tried this last night...but Godzilla was nowhere to be found.
I changed upshift to disable and while the shift felt snappier, it still had a lag as if it were waiting for the shift event to occur.
What other torque management did you disable with this to create your Godzilla shift?
I changed the Max Torque in 1st thru 4th gears to 6046 and set trans input and output to 6046 and while the car felt a bit stronger...still no Godzilla shift.
    Did I miss a table/setting?

I have changed my 1st thru 4th Max Torque to even a lesser value than you have. And the Trans input and output to 6046 as you have. I also have the stall Torque Mgt changed to 8192 rpm. Other than that not sure why the difference in our shifts.

Just disabled the trans torque management on a 2007 Escalade A6. Now the timing does't retard to -12* between shifts.
But until the editor has the shift pressue tables, the shifts will be slow & soft.
