2 Step with P/N idle limiter

I was thinking today if i could use the p/n limiter table as a smart man's 2 step.
    For example:
-Set the P/N limiter to 3500rpms with VCMEdit
-Stage at the line, place stick in 1st with clutch pedal down
-Floor pedal (rpms held at 3500)
-Drop clutch and rpms shoot to 6600 (my 1-6 rev limit)

Will it work is the question. If the pcm knows first by some strange programming and input from the VSS it just might. Anyone who has an m6 care to see if this works? It's raining out right now and don't feel like going crazy.

Well I just tried it out and guess what......It works! The limiter is only enabled when your completely stationary so i guess it uses the vss signal. I tried it rolling and it didn't limit the rpms. Then I tried it from a dead stop and it did indeed hold the rpms till I released the clutch and started moving! Im psyched!

GRRR....I just went for another drive and i got caught between 2 and 3rd with the 3500 rev limiter. I guess my idea has a flaw!

This is bad ass, hopefully you can get it figured out. I may have to start messing with this tomarrow.

How can you make this work with an automatic. Would it work the same while holding the brake to stall the convertor? Thanks Scott

I never could get it to work. My RPMs were limited to the P/N setting, even in gear and off the clutch.
