    Re: Guys, Please need help

Please explain what a TCI overhaul kit is and does? Playing with the transmission can lead to weird results.

Just the other day I observed the MPH drop as the RPM increased for a car on the dyno and brought it to the attention of the Dyno operator, suggesting something was wrong. He ignored it, suggesting I don't believe everything the scanner tells me. Next run *boom*. Busted the tail shaft housing in the A4 transmission along with the tailshaft.

I assume it means a shift-kit? Perhaps if you removed it and relogged, it would be fine. If so, take it back to the supplier and ask them whats the deal?

If you want to be a sleuth, then I suggest logging the following parameters for tranny scanning:

    Engine rpm
    Vehicle speed
    Throttle position
    Timing advance
    MAP
    Dynamic Airflow
    ECT
    IAT
    Force Motor (Actual) current
    Transmission input shaft rpm
    Transmission output shaft rpm
    Total misfires
    Trans current gear
    TCC Slip RPM
    TCC duty cycle
    Delivered trans torque

and get back to us. Your shift kit (if indeed it is one) could be causing the problem. No doubt whatever you changed is.

Something is dragging the engine down, perhaps it could be line pressure related. Who knows, not enough information my friend.

    HI MNR-0,
For the TCI : It is TCI part number 378951....
    "Pro Super Kits
The TCI® Pro Super Kit is just what it says: a super rebuild kit that contains gaskets, seals, clutches, steels, forward bands, adjustable modulator, high volume filter and Trans-Scat valve body modifications, and even a drain plug kit. Contains the same parts and pieces that we use to build the StreetFighter® transmission."

And this info from TCI web site. Dose it give any help???
    Thanks

Get a log and send it my way. I'll check for tranny slip and line pressure.

    Hi Ali,
Sounds like you may be having a battle with abuse mode on the tranny settings to me. As MNR-O says, send us a log file and we can have a look. Question for you, does this happen in the hot part of the day and after a couple of WOT runs?

    Cheers

    Re: Guys, Please need help

Or it could be flaring due to some of the shift settings in your bin file. We need a file and a better description of what happens when driving normally and at accelerating at WOT etc...

    cheers

I think youve got some bad mis-configuration for your Trans abuse.

All your engine/trans abuse modes are still on in your .bin

Look at your ignition timing after a shift , running 0 degree's of timing thats why it feels flat !.

You need to fix trans/engine abuse settings, theyre all over the shop in your .bin

    Hi Ross,
What do you mean by bad mis-configuration for your Trans abuse?
What I've done for my trany is; I took one of my friends file and I took all the performance sitting without the normal....And I just copy past it to my file. So Which mean...only when I press the performance pottem the car will read the changes that I did. And when I repress the bottom every thing will retarn to normal.

    In your flash,

    Edit-->Engine-->Torque Management-->General Change from 100 to 640
Edit-->Engine-->Torque Management-->Abuse Change Drivetrain Abuse RPM to 0 Speed to 0
Edit-->Engine-->Torque Management-->Abuse Change Drivetrain Abuse Speed to 0
Edit-->Engine-->Torque Management-->Abuse Change Abuse Mode Timer Table to 0's

Close Engine box off and open
Edit-->Transmission-->Torque Management Set Abuse Mode Enabled to False
Edit-->Transmission-->Torque Management Change RPM to 0
    Edit-->Transmission-->Torque Management Change %TPS to 0
Edit-->Transmission-->Torque Management Change Speed to 0
Edit-->Transmission-->Torque Management Change Abuse Torque Reduction Vs RPM Table to 0's

Leaving Torque Reduction vs Shift alone, you will pull timing still during gearshifts to keep life for your tranny but i would suspect not so much timing will be pulled nor for so long.

You also have CAT overtemp protection on, that can also pull timing + add fuel.

    Re: Guys, Please need help

    Hi Ross,
OK I've done everything, but how do I add more fuel?
Should I go to Engine--> Fuel control--> Power Enrich--> Enrichment Rate--> Add change the numbe to 2.000? Is that correct.
    Thanks for the help.

    Re: Guys, Please need help

Have you tuned your VE and only need to add fuel for PE ?

If so then you add it via
Edit-->Engine-->Fuel Control-->Power Enrich and modify the V8 Mult Vs RPM table.

You should have tuned your VE before playing with PE.

Changing the Enrichment Rate is the rate at which the PCM Slides from Non-PE into PE as it enters PE and doesnt affect the fueling.

Has removing all those bits of torque management removed your big flatspot ? Maybe if you want to do another log and send it , so we can see the improvements it has made or hasnt
