why is maf and stft still working?

Trying to tune ve with afr error%. set maf to 0hz and ltft on temp to max and disabled stft. also disable dfco. why does my maf still shows its working and my stft work also? I reset feul trim and then stft comes back?

Did you set your ECT vs. IAT table to max temperature at all points on the tables?

Engine --> Fuel Control --> OL & CL

Did you disable any of the ECM errors that are associated with the MAF failing? If so, you need to make sure that P0103 is still able to be set.

My LTFT ECTvs.IAT min table I set to max 284 . I did disable ECM errors p101,p102,p103 but all I did was uncheck the box.

If you unchecked the box for P0103, I think that is keeping the MAF from failing and going into SD mode.

Go ahead and check the box and and change the error mode to 2 - No MIL light.

That will allow the MAF to fail, but it won't set the MIL light on the dash. The only way that you'll know the MAF has failed is to check the codes with the VCM scanner when the car is running.

It should ok to leave P0101/P0102 disabled, though.

    I will try that thanks

You can NOT set the DTC's for No Error Reported or the PCM goes on happily monitoring the MAF instead of failing it.
I would set the MAF codes to MIL on First Error myself and uncheck the SES box if you don't want the SES light if you wish.

Doug, does that hold true for P0101/P0102 as well? I've read conflicting things that say you can disable those but to leave P0103 so it can be set, and others that say not to disable any of them.

can you unplug the MAF? Thats what I did to make sure it wasn't being used.

You are probably going into closed loop when your fuel trims come on. Its also possible that even though you failed the MAF that it still trys to measure air so therefore you still get a reading. Are you making sure you are in open loop cause once in open loop you should have no fuel trims.

yeah I looked at your tune, your closed loop enable temps are still set for stock, so probably whats happening is your go into closed loop and the pcm then starts making corrections using stfts. Get that bad boy out of closed loop.

Thanks guys as soon I maxed my close loop enable table the stft are not coming on. The maf is still showing numbers but think its not going to affect me started making changes to ve and can see and fell the difference. Thanks again

I would set them to No MIL not No Error.

Well the maf is still showing numbers on chart...frequency is set to 0hz the dtc's p0101-p0102-p0103 are unchecked and set to no mil. When you guys disable maf do you still show numbers on chart like its working?

I'm pretty sure that you want the DTCs checked for SES Enable, then you can set them all to No MIL Light.

If they are unchecked, I think that keeps them from activating at all.

Yeah but when all is done and your in open loop when you open your table or chart does maf show like its working. In my case my table has maf hz and it shows lets say 2000hz-4000hz while driving or is it supposed to show 0hz like it isnt there?

By setting the Maf fail freq to 0, the Maf Hz will still display the same as a none failed Maf.
As long as there is a P0103 code, your in SD mode.
