A4 shift, TCC, TM performance tweaks - Excel tbl

EDIT: This 'sheet has been superseded by a more
recent, cleaner and more-tweaked-up one, and
others are now hosted too; see this thread:

I have gotten to a pretty nice set of settings. I put
them into a nice formatted Excel sheet so it should
be "portable" between various FBody years etc.
Do not know if it's entirely compatible to 'Vettes
and other platforms, but worth a look. You can cut-
n-paste the tables into corresponding VCM_Editor
    tables 1:1.

Brake Shift Pressure vs Torque vs Gear ....i was looking at this on mine last night.....anyone know exactly what it does, and is it related to TQ management? I at first set mine to 0 also, then thought it was a trans line preasure thing, so I changed it back..........any help anyone? Thanx

I believe it just limits line pressure when your foot
is on the brake; my stock program has this zeroed
and I didn't change it. Might have some value in
towing apps (engine braking) - or not.

Thanks for sharing. I've noticed some of your trans based questions and comments go unanswered on the forum. As I purchased the VCM suite almost solely to fine tune my trans cal, I've appreciated your posts so far.

I just downloaded your xls file. I am a M6 guy but I have a friend with a 2001 A4 C5 Coupe. He was wondering what exactly do all these changes get you???

    Thanks,

Mainly, downshifting that "pulls in" pedal-proportional
(not no-kickdown-until-WOT), more like an old-school
vacuum-modulated or TV controlled tranny. And no TCC
lockup in 3rd, so it's more "sporty" w/ my mild TCI3000.
I would take these as a starting point, try 'em, file-to-
    fit.

    jimmyblue,

did you ever get any resolution to the Brake: Shift Pressure Vs. Torque vs. Gear???

I can't help but wonder if it shouldn't be reversed on the left hand side of the table ordered like this... 2->1 instead of how it is marked 1->2 etc. etc.

Unless of course, the table is about the shift pressure when it downshifts. IE: you are in 4th, at 45 and you WOT. You downshift into 2nd, I wonder if this table describes the shift pressure during that process??? But then again, it would be mislabled at the table level. Any ideas? Has anyone played with this this table? I ask because, when mine downshifts, there is very little felt shift pressure, but there sure is a lot when it upshifts!!!!
Because it must be Brent!&&\'05 FORD F-250 Diesel, baby

Since this says no lockup in 3rd, your mpg would be greatly affected by the driving conditions right? would the converter lock on normally @ any point?

just wanted to say ive used this table and it works awesome..will take some tweaking though.

jimmy: I like how the car is so responsive and kicks down a lot sooner...but i may want the shifts a bit softer.

In order to find my happy medium, would i just leave the line pressure table alone? Or maybe i should ask...What creates the affect of having better throttle response?

Re: A4 shift, TCC, TM performance tweaks - Excel t

A low shift adaptation time makes the trans use "as
much as it needs" to get done on time. I think this is
the main key to throttle responsiveness. Upping shift
pressure makes it use that much, needed or not. I
have been upping force motor pressure (shaving down the table current) trying to control my TCC slip on
highway grades, etc. with my TCI converter. If the
shifts are overly hard I would back off on the shift
pressure by load first. If you feel like there is slip on
high-throttle shifts then maybe put some back.
